Bioremediation using weeds
Deepak Pant (editor), Shashi Kant Bhatia (editor), Anil K. Patel (editor), Anand Giri (editor)
The natural ecosystem has been negatively impacted by environmental contamination from hazardous waste products, chemical pollutants and heavy metals. These
pollutants arise from both anthropogenic sources and natural sources such as hurricanes and volcanic eruptions. Bioremediation is gradually being recognized as a
standard practice for the sustainable management of environment as it is more
eco-friendly and low-cost remediation techniques as compared to traditional
chemical and physical methods.

In this monograph, core elements of multidisciplinary bioremediation practice
are addressed and environmental pollutants can be effectively remediated using
weeds. Chapters include recent results and more focused on current trends of
introduction to potentials of weeds in bioremediation practice. We hope that the
book would be of great interest to the professionals and postgraduate students
involved in weed-based bioremediation or phytoremediation and environmental
research.
